My name is Scott Brookes and I am running for re-election as Town Clerk. I am a life time Haddam resident as is my wife Audrey. Our blended family consists of four adult children, all graduates of the H-K education system. I have a bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College, Manchester New Hampshire.

I am retired from the US Postal Service after 33 years of service. I am active in the St. Peter Church Knights of Columbus and have been president of the Village Parks Society of Haddam for the Past 12 Years.   I served 25 years as a volunteer firefighter and was the town fire marshal for 23 years, stepping down after winning the town clerk election 4 years ago.

I have become a Connecticut Certified Town Clerk after completing course work and passing the state exam. Our office has applied for and received four grants from the Connecticut State Library totaling $16,000.00 at no cost to the town. This money has been used to restore old volumes and purchase a new map cabinet and another locking cabinet for our vital records. We have also recently put our land records on line making them more accessible to the public. I also serve as the Connecticut Town Clerk liaison between our association and any matters that deal with Connecticut DEEP.
