I am Mark Lundgren and I am running for the Board of Finance. I am proud to be on the Moriarty / Schlag Team along with fellow BoF candidate Steve Bayley. We are not the only fiscal conservatives on this great team.

Kathy and I have lived in Haddam for forty-five years, our son is a successful product of our school system. I have been active in our Town government for a long time. I started with a stint as Chairman of the Board of Tax Review, served three terms on the Board of Selectmen (two as First Selectman) and then tree terms as Treasurer. As my son was growing up I helped out with Little League and with the Recreation Department’s basket ball and soccer programs. I am now in my thirty-sixth year volunteering for Elderly Housing, starting when it was just an idea. I currently serve as the President of the non-profit Haddam Elderly Housing Corp.

The Board of Finance needs some ‘fresh blood’. I will bring a new perspective to how things are done. I will fight the party politics which produce a ‘smoke and mirrors’ budget that this year has income placed in the expense side only to make the appearances of lower expenses.

Haddam can never be competitive with lower Middlesex County towns when it has the highest mill rate.
